Hematite is also known as red mine which chemical formula is Fe203. It is iron mineral with weakly magnetic and better floatability than ferromagnetic mineral. It is one of the main materials in iron making. The main beneficiation technologies have re-election, flotation and high intensity magnetic separation or some beneficiation technologies working together.
In the earlier time, hematite mineral processing generally takes re-election process which main concludes jig, centrifugal concentrator, spiral chute, spiral concentrator and shaker etc. But it is out of time because it’s small beneficiation capacity, low beneficiation taste and low recovery. And then magnetic separation techniques and special flotation process are developed in hematite mineral processing. Flotation process main uses paraffin oxidation soap as collector, and high intensity magnetic separation process main uses ping strong magnetic ring magnetic separator as sorting equipment. But their sorting specifications are not satisfying.
In recent years, beneficiation of hematite has reached great development. The main beneficiation technologies are strong magnetic beneficiation process represented by electromagnetic pulsating high gradient magnetic separator and reverse flotation beneficiation process represented by series. Especially taking the process that combines magnetic and flotation,the degree of red iron ore-dressing in some mines has reached the grade of iron concentrate, which recycle ratio reaches satisfaction indicators.
